Life in a bubble is becoming somewhat common for athletes as sport organizations try to offer a safe environment to continue play through the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

Now that we’ve made it into the new year, reminiscing thoughts of 2020 come to mind. More-so… searching for the “bright side”.

Every December, I look forward to revisiting everything that made the news during the previous twelve months.

I have some really great gift-givers in my life; those that seem to find the perfect present no matter the circumstance. But a friend of mine got me something this year that she couldn’t have known would put the biggest smile on my face.

When it comes to international trade trying to understand how the intricacies of trade work is frankly impossible, at least for a neophyte like myself, although I try.

The good news is that the light at the end of tunnel in the COVID-19 fight might be something than the proverbial train.

In case someone has forgotten Saskatchewan and Canada are in the midst of a health pandemic. And the numbers are not particularly good. Sunday there were 307 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan. Monday the number was 412.

When it came to 2020, nothing was normal, playing board games included. For huge stretches of the years gathering with buds to play games just never made a lot of sense in terms of health.

It’s behind us now, 2020. Looking over our shoulder at the calendar most people are ready to toss, some would say, “It was the worst of times, it was the worst of times.” (Sorry, Charles Dickens). Some of us (myself included) lost loved ones.

Happy New Year, Gardeners! We’re standing on the threshold of the new year, let’s pray that this year will be brighter and filled with hope. Last year was difficult in so many ways for so many people.
