There’s a fine line in life between doing the right thing and wrong thing and that line gets even finer when politics is involved.

I felt so helpless this past Saturday after seeing something that made me feel horrible for the rest of the weekend. I still do. My brother and I had tickets to the Saskatchewan Rush game up in Saskatoon, so we set out for the city that afternoon.

Sometimes good ideas pop up in a community like ours. Sometimes the ideas are great. The idea to create banners to honour veterans from Yorkton and area is clearly one which falls under the column of truly great ideas.

In terms of board games few offer the long term interest that chess has. There is depth to the game which allows players to get better with experience, and anytime you can improve your skills at something, you tend to want to try to do just that.

The obvious disconnect between consumers and farmers is much discussed in agriculture media, and that includes being mentioned here on numerous occasions. This past week I had something of an epiphany in regards to the aforementioned disconnect.

A few more months, the Preacher and I hope, and we’ll have completed our move. Meanwhile, it feels strange, living in two houses. No matter which house I’m in, I feel at home. The two places feel connected, albeit with a long, paved hall.

The Yorkton and District Horticultural Society will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 7 p.m. at SIGN on North Street.

We are just over a week away from the start of the Indoor Football League season south of the border.
