We recently just returned to the office after our yearly summer break where we close up shop for two weeks. It was a solid holiday and a nice time to reflect and recharge after what had been an insanely busy June and July.

W ith the calendar turning to September students across the city and region are heading back to school.

My 93 year-old father says he visits with his twin brother regularly in the woodshop. I picture them there, alike as two halves of a walnut.

Time marches on, doesn’t it! Get out your calendars, gardeners, and let’s add a couple more listings.

In the wake of the racial violence in Charlottesville, Virginia; the last week has seen a number of statues come down in confederate states.

I needed a haircut. Relax. You haven’t stumbled across my Tumblr page where I describe the minutiae of my daily life in agonizing detail. I’m going to make a larger point. Probably. Maybe. Let’s see where this goes.
