The first three years of life are a time of amazing growth and development. In just a few short years, children go from being entirely dependent on having all their needs met, to exploring and learning about the world around them.

If we were to judge our priorities by the amount of space devoted to stories in the news, we'd have to figure that the World Cup, controversy at a hot-dog-eating contest, and the shenanigans of Paris and Lindsay were the most important issues.

I hope that by now, you have reserved your spot on the Yorkton and District Horticultural Society's one day trip to the International Peace Gardens this Saturday.

Dear Editor: On behalf of the Yorkton Business Improvement District, our member and residents we want to take this opportunity to offer our thanks to the hundreds of people involved in the recovery efforts following the Canada Day flash flood.

Dear Editor: In response to the editorial in the July 7 edition of Yorkton This Week I would like to verify a few facts.The flour mill is "brick" not stone. It is built on a stone foundation.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid a brief visit to the Yorkton area Friday.

Yorkton got a visit from Stephen Harper last week. Or, did we? One scribe who shall remain nameless because I'm not sure if he/she wants his/her name published said, "Let's get this clear. Harper was not in Yorkton today.
