There are worst things for provincial economies than being a slave to the ups and downs of oil. But as the recent stock market swoon has shown, it isn't always the greatest thing, either.

Sit down with me for a minute and I'll tell you about a gardening adventure we had recently. One summer day, not that long ago, I was looking at our mugo pines and thought they needed a bit of a trim.

Dear Editor: In the July 20 edition of Yorkton This Week David Suzuki writes that Tom Harris is an "industry shill." A quick visit to the Website of the International Climate Science Coalition, the group I lead, shows that this is false.

Housing is an ongoing issue across the province these days, and in Yorkton we have certainly seen the effects of it as rental vacancy rates have remained tight for months and housing prices have climbed substantially.

Most arguments against bike lanes are absurd. Consider this: We have wide roads everywhere to accommodate cars, most of which carry only one person. On either side of many of those roads, we have pedestrian sidewalks.
