OUTLOOK - The Outlook Ice Hawks started the new year off right on Friday night, January 5 when they hosted the Craik Warriors at the Jim Kook Rec Plex.

Things started off in the first period with the Ice Hawks being first on the scoreboard with a goal made by #13 Luke Nukwama just three and a half minutes into gameplay. Not to be outdone, however, were the Warriors as #16 Jonathan Reich sunk one in just 37 seconds later to tie things up at that early point in the action. A few minutes later with 12:11 remaining, Outlook one again took the lead with a goal by #25 Dylan Clark, and then #11 Jake Spak slid one in for the Ice Hawks just under five minutes later. With just one second remaining in the period, Craik answered right back with a goal scored by #10 Joey Prebushewski.

The second period saw the action slow down, but it also saw Outlook move further ahead on the scoreboard as #14 Rin Benny sunk one in at the 12:00 mark, followed up by #25 Clark scoring another one at 6:37. The Ice Hawks kept the Warriors at bay during this period and they hoped to continue that in the third.

However, Craik started mounting an impressive comeback in the final twenty minutes of the game, with three goals scored beginning at the 13:13 mark on the clock. First up was #27 Brendan Kemp, then #11 Alex Barnes scored with 11:10 remaining, and finally #9 Cody Vibert scored the Warriors' final goal of the night with 6:36 remaining. Within the final five minutes of gameplay, Outlook returned the favor with a goal by #93 Kaden Elder, while #90 Steven Lee sunk the last goal of the night in the final 66 seconds of the game.

The Ice Hawks were victorious at a score of 7-5.

Outlook is on the road for the next two Fridays as the team motors down to Loreburn to play the 19ers on January 12, followed by a trip further down to Central Butte to battle the Flyers on January 19.
