OUTLOOK - With the month of May having arrived, attention is now turning to outdoor sports for the coming spring and summer months in the Lake Diefenbaker regional area.

This includes local baseball action, as the Coteau Hills Baseball League is gearing up for another season on the diamonds.

Although the league's full schedule of games hasn't been decided just yet, likely due to schedules involving seeding operations for many in the district, there are a few games that have been confirmed so far.

The seven team league, which features the Outlook Riverhawks, Dinsmore Dynamos (U18), Beechy Breakers, Elrose Aces, Kyle Yellowjackets, Eston Ramblers, and the Riverhurst Raiders, kicks off their first game on Monday, May 27 when Riverhurst visits Eston.

From there, the season kicks it into high gear in June when Eston hosts Beechy on June 3, and then the Ramblers travel to Dinsmore to play the Dynamos on June 5. Meanwhile, Kyle travels to Riverhurst to kick off their season on June 6, while Outlook starts their season on June 17 when they travel to Eston to face the Ramblers. Elrose gets their season started off with a game on June 19 when they host Kyle.

The Outlook Riverhawks will look to repeat the success they had last season, with the team having won the 2023 Coteau Hills Baseball League championship after a three-game series victory over the Kyle Yellow Jackets.

The full game schedule is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
