BRODERICK - He tried, but Mount Meatball proved to be too tough of an opponent!

Eighteen-year old Ethan Reddekopp of Broderick decided to try his luck - and his stomach - at one of the food challenge options offered at the Terrace Dining Room, opting for the colossal meatball sub choice, which includes five six-inch meatball and spaghetti sandwiches and two pounds of fries. With 30 minutes on the clock, Ethan showed up hungry and determined on Saturday afternoon, April 20, quickly putting away two of the subs, but he soon encountered what competitive eaters everywhere are all too familiar with - The Wall.

Seeing how the young man came up against two pounds of fries, 25 meatballs, 1.5 lbs of spaghetti, 2 cups of spaghetti sauce, 1 large fried onion, and 1.5 cups of mozzarella cheese, no one can really blame him for trying.

As the clock ran out and his plated opponent proved to be too difficult, Reddekopp realized two things. One, he at least had take-home meals figured out for the immediate future, and two - he'll likely never look at spaghetti and meatballs the same way ever again.
