Stella (Prestie) Gul-ka was born on July 24, 1928 in the Checkow Dist. to Franc-es (Derin) Prestie and Mike Prestie. Stella attended Checkow School and worked on the family farm. On Octo-ber 28, 1945 she married Mike M. Gulka.
Together they farmed and were blessed with 3 children, Ernie, Sally and Joanne. In 1965 they moved to Preeceville where Stella worked for 14 years at the Preeceville Hospital, retiring in 1988. Mike continued to farm, as well as work at the creamery and as a carpenter.
Mike passed away October 2001. Stella resided at the family home in Preeceville until moving to the Health Care Center. Stella liked to crochet, knit and most of all enjoyed the visits from her grandchildren: Ryan, Austin, Vanes-sa, Adam, Tyffany, Tyrell, Keenean, Emily and great-grandchild Joshua Kitzan.
On July 24 Stella turned 87years old and passed away peacefully on August 25, 2015. Amen. Funeral Service was held on Saturday August 29, 2015, 10:00 a.m. from The Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home, Preeceville, Sask.
Inter-ment followed in the Hyhoriw Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Friends so wishing may make memorial donations to Preeceville Hospital Auxiliary Building and Equipment Fund as tokens of re-membrance for the late Stella M. Gulka. Preeceville Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
