The descendants of Jacob and Paraska (Polly) Strelezki and Peter and Anne Strelezki gathered at the site of the original homestead of Peter and Anne to celebrate 100 years as a family farm operation on August 17.

Past Sturgis Composite High School students from the class of 1989 got reacquainted through a reunion held on August 17. "There were 18 past students who attended out of the 64 original," said Trevor Olson, spokesperson.

The Sturgis Horticultural Society hosted another successful show with 20 exhibitors from across the local area on August 15.

Avid archers were encouraged to aim at numerous 3-D archery targets at the new location at the Sturgis Sportsgrounds on August 17 and 18. "There were 86 archers registered between Saturday and Sunday.

The Sturgis Sports-Land was officially taken over and is now renamed Rusty Liquor Barrel and owned by the Sommerville family of Sturgis. The family opened for business under new management on August 21.

The Sturgis Composite High School class of 1969 held its 50th year class reunion on July 27.

The Town of Preeceville is scheduled to host a byelection with five nominees set for September 18 at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall. Advance polls will be held September 14.

The 21st annual Field of Dreams open day was held by Prairie Soil Services on July 25, along with partners Lindgren Farms, Bayer Crop Science, ATP Nutrition and Pattison Agriculture.

The new Preeceville Gateway Co-op Home Centre, C-store and lumber store became a reality with a sod turning ceremony at the card lock location on August 12.

The Town of Preeceville will be holding a byelection for one Councillor position on September 18. The Call for Nominations opened on July 18 with nominations closing on August 14 at 4 p.m. stated Lorelei Karcha, administrator.
