The Endeavour Rec Board has decided not to offer a curling ice surface this year due to lack of interest in the curling community.

There were 15 rinks entered in the Preeceville seniors bonspiel held during the week of January 8 to 11. The Lou Roste and Ralph Ager teams tied for first place. Team members on the Roste rink were: Phil Murrin, Minnie Zimmer and Darwin Chalupiak.

Angelina Sorgen of Preeceville is preparing to experience a once in a life time trip when she will travel to Uganda, Africa for mission work through Touch Ministries. Sorgen is schedule to leave January 20 and arrive back on February 5.

The many Sturgis Kinsmen members are busy preparing for its 39th annual mini-miracle that will be hosted at the Sturgis Composite School on February 28.

Mischief RCMP members are investigating a mischief occurrence that happened at a land location north of Sturgis. A truck was shot through the windshield causing both the windshield and back window to be damaged.

The Preeceville and District Musher Rendezvous, scheduled for February 1 to 3, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary of dog sled races and various of events.

The Rural Municipality of Preeceville made its committee and board appointments for 2019 at the November 9, 2018 meeting of council, according to Lisa Peterson, administrator.

The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF), Preeceville branch hosted its annual general meeting and antler measuring on January 5 at the Preeceville Community Hall. Blair Mitchell was the official antler measurer.
