Yorkton This Week

The Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association held it east central regional meeting in Yorkton today, (Wednesday).

Students at St. Paul’s School had an opportunity this afternoon to hear the responses of Yorkton-Melville candidates to a series of five questions prepared by Grade 6 students.

The annual Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Drive Away Hunger event was held in Yorkton today.

Yorkton This Week sent a list of ten questions to each of the five candidates running in the Yorkton-Melville riding in the 2019 Federal Election. Every day for the next ten days, we will post their answers.

The 3rd Annual Madge Lake Walleye Cup (MLWC) is on the books and the weather was in “full co-operation mode.” Elias “Louie” Bakopoulos and Stan Ricci, both of Regina, took home the win on September 14th in Duck Mountain Provincial Park with 12.

Students from the Yorkton Regional High School were planting tulips for the Royal Canadian Legion Alexander Ross Branch #77 on Oct. 8.

Recently, Principal Brent Chadwick of Assiniboia Composite High served as a technical commissioner for the combined continental qualifying softball tournament for Asia and Oceania held from September 24-29 in Shanghai, China.

It’s Fire Prevention Week, and the annual event was marked this morning, (Wednesday), by a pancake breakfast.

We are all aware Old Man Winter is getting ever closer to his unwanted arrival. This morning we woke to just a little reminder of that fact as a layer of snow was on vehicles, trees and shrubbery, having fallen overnight.
