The Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of a new firetruck on June 27, which is being put into service as the brigade’s Pumper No. 6. The unit, acquired from Rocky Mountain Phoenix of Red Deer, Alta.

RCMP say two Port Alberni men are suspects in the murders of Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese on the Alaska Highway and the death of a man on Highway 37 near Dease Lake.

The town of Springside needs a new sewer lift station, and they have signed the contract to get construction underway. Kelsey Pipeline received the contract through Bullee Consulting for the project, which will start construction in mid-August.

The Weyburn-Fillmore RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to solve a recent theft of an office trailer. Between midnight and 7 a.m. on July 18, a 24-foot office trailer was stolen from a rig site in the Stoughton area.

Three vehicles collided while waiting for a train to pass near Melfort over the weekend. On July 20, at 3:35 pm, Melfort Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a three vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 41A.

The court process began Tuesday morning for Shayla Orthner, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tiki Laverdiere. Orthner is also charged with kidnapping, improperly interfering with a human body, and vehicle theft.

A new forward has inked the papers to try-out with the Yorkton Terriers this fall. Terrier head coach and general manager Mat Hehr said Ethan Robson will add size up front. “He’s a big strong offensive forward,” said Hehr.
