The 2017 year-end financial report for the City of Yorkton shows a realized surplus of $427,640. “For 2017 revenues were $420,240 higher than budget. Departmental operations were $27,928 higher than budget.

A new baseball program launched with its first day on the diamonds Sunday. The Yorkton Challenger Baseball program played its first fun games at the JayCee Beach Baseball Diamonds on May 13 with 17 participants.

Saskatchewan Roughrider quarterback Brandon Bridge says he’s ready to earn the starting pivot job. The Canadian-born quarterback knows success means leading the team to the Grey Cup.

Dear Editor: In honour of Yorkton Pride Week May 12th through 20th 2018, I am writing to celebrate diversity.

There are times when a community should take a moment and metaphorically pat itself on the back. This is one of those times for our town.

Tide comes in, tide comes out. Flowers blossoms and whither. The earth completes its orbit around the glowing ball of fire that threatens to envelop it someday.
