A local real estate company is arguing against pessimistic reports on a recent mortgage ruling from the federal government. Remax Yorkton is asking people not to panic over the “mortgage stress test,” which went into place on Jan. 1.

The Yorkton Terriers were in Weyburn to face the Red Wings Saturday in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action. After a scoreless first period the Wings took a lead in the second as Erik Olson struck on the powerplay at the 16:57 mark.

Young athletes from Yorkton, Melville, and Esterhazy will be competing at the Saskatchewan Winter Games (SWG) at North Battleford February 18-24. They’ll be curling, bowling, figure skating, and competing in 14 other sports.
