Yorkton This Week

The Bredenbury Tundra Junior C hockey club faced off against the Bredenbury Cougars senior team on Sunday afternoon in a fundraiser game to raise money for the Bredenbury rink.

Three young Yorkton hockey players are in Calgary this week as they compete in the U16 WHL Cup. Austin Dycer, Jackson Berezowski and Ryder Korczak were selected to play for Team Saskatchewan.

It was another tough week of hockey for the Yorkton Terriers. Their last two games have resulted in two losses for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team. Last Tuesday, they hosted the Estevan Bruins at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

After a two-week break in midget AAA game action, the Yorkton RawTec Maulers hit the ice again last weekend in a two-game series against the Beardy’s Blackhawks. The two teams would end up splitting the series, each taking one victory.

GILLESPIE - Mrs. Dorothy Gillespie, formerly of Yorkton, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 in Swift Current at the age of 91 years. Dorothy Irene Gillespie (nee Adams) was born in Decker, MB.
