Council reduces meeting dates

There will be fewer Yorkton Council meetings in 2017 following a decision by Council at its regular meeting. Meeting will be held every three weeks moving forward in 2017, rather than every two weeks which has been the norm for a number of years.

Traffic Bylaw tabled yet again

Yorkton Council continues to refine amendments to the Traffic Bylaw which received first reading Nov. 21, 2016. The Bylaw had been back before Council Dec. 12, where after discussing a number of details it was tabled.

City accepts new fuel tender

Yorkton Council approved a tender for its gasoline and diesel for the next three years.

Council adopts Code of Ethics

Yorkton Council approved a new Council & Committee Members – Code of Ethics Bylaw.

Betty Leona Brezinski of Yorkton, formerly of Invermay, passed away peacefully at her home in Aspen Bluff Villa, Yorkton on Sunday, January 1, 2017. She was 83 years of age.

Ms. Thresia Tedeschi aged ninety-six years of Yorkton. Marie Tedeschi was born on May 9, 1920 in Yorkton, SK. Thresia went home for Christmas to her Lord and Saviour on December 25, 2016. A daughter of Louis and Margaret (nee Swereda) Tedeschi.

John Vidomski, beloved son of Vincent and Josephine (nee: Vargacha), passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, Sk. He was 81 years of age.

Joan Elizabeth Ashcroft was born June 20, 1936, the daughter of John Thomas (Milton) Brears and Minnie (Maxwell) Brears. She was raised on the farm on the Cutarm Creek near Bredenbury, SK.
