In an attempt to evolve Neanderthals into real people, Hockey New Brunswick is requiring the parents of the youngest minor hockey players to take a course on rinkside behaviour next fall.

It was not an announcement with the greatest fanfare, but it was one which should have huge benefits for Yorkton and area moving forward. Transactions was a conference which promoted collaboration between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.

Mrs. Annie Yaholnitsky of Hudson Bay, formerly of Stornoway passed away on March 10, 2013 at the age of 96 years. Annie (nee Shawaga) was born on September 4, 1916 in Vonda, SK. She attended school in Sutherland to Grade 3.

Haraldur ("Harry") Jonasson of Yorkton, Saskatchewan passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 83 years of age. Harry is revered as a sweet, humble, gentle man.
