The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Female Athlete of the Month for October is Avery Westberg. Westberg has been on the 80 and above honor roll since Gr. 9. She has been involved in the S.R.C.

Every autumn, tens of millions of monarch butterflies take wing in southern Ontario, embarking on a miraculous 3,000-kilometre, two-month journey, arriving in central Mexico in late October and early November.

Kees Yorkton took three athletes to a training camp and tournament at the Mexican national taekwondo training centre at La Loma, in San Luis Potosi from Oct. 28-Nov. 3. The Yorkton athletes were Matthew Bodnaryk, Autumn Ashcroft and Francis Bazin.

The September male athlete of the month is a member of the Sacred Heart Football team. He's got size, strength and speed that have made him a force to be dealt with.

The heavy rains which hit the city July 1, causing severe flooding, came with a significant price tag to the City of Yorkton. "The cost to the City for the flood is approximately $750,000," Mayor James Wilson told Yorkton This Week last Tuesday.
