The 3rd installment of the Ultimate Stride Explosive skating school made its return to Yorkton's Gallagher Centre last week. According to camp director Bruce Thompson, not a thing has changed from last year. He also said that that's a good thing.

Thanks to a pretty good shot at Deer Park golf course over the weekend, Yorkton's Barry Boehm is now officially $10, 000 richer. Golfing as part of the Men's Open, Boehm made his biggest shot on the third hole during play on Saturday afternoon.

The Parkland Racing Association will be holding their third race day of the season Aug. 14-15 at the Yellowhead International Speedway. Races will be held on both days and racing starts at 2 p.m.

Tobacco rules

Beginning August 15, the first provision of new tobacco legislation will come into force in Saskatchewan. This legislation is part of The Tobacco Control Amendment Act, 2010 which was passed by the Legislature on May 20, 2010.
