Man arrested by Regina Police SWAT and Street Gang Units seeks bail

REGINA – A Regina man arrested by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, SWAT, and Serious Habitual Offender Comprehensive Action Program (SHOCAP) is seeking bail.

Marshall Cote, 19, appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Dec. 1 and Nov. 27. The Crown is opposed to his release and he has a bail hearing scheduled for Dec. 4.

Cote was charged following an RPS Police Operation by their Street Gang Unit and SHOCAP. At about 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 24, members from both the Street Gang and SWAT Units executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Cameron Street.

Inside the home police seized a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber semi-automatic carbine rifle, an overcapacity “drum” .22 calbre magazine, several 9mm pistol magazines, firearm parts, and ammunition.

Cote was charged with two counts each of possession of a prohibited weapon, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited, and possession of ammunition while prohibited.
