REGINA — A Regina man made his first court appearance on Oct. 24 after robbing a 93-year-old victim in the Queen City.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Sept. 27, members of the Regina Police Service were called to a restaurant in the 2600 block of Dewdney Avenue. The victim told police that he encountered the man who robbed him in the washroom of the restaurant.

"The victim described being overpowered by the other male, who reached into the victim’s pocket and grabbed his wallet," said RPS in a media release. "The suspect male had his face covered as he left the washroom. Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor injuries."

Through continued investigation of the matter, the RPS was able to identify and arrest a suspect on Oct. 21 without incident and was charged with robbery and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.
