Police investigating bear spray incident at powwow

Witnesses described the suspect as a young male.

REGINA — A bear spray incident during the First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow has police investigating the incident.

It was on Saturday at 9:35 p.m. that police were dispatched to the Brandt Center for a report of a weapons offence where people were assaulted with bear spray.

Police arrived as people were leaving the Brandt Center. Witnesses described the suspect as a young male.

Due to the incident, the powwow was cancelled early.
