Update: Police arrest armed, dangerous man in Prince Albert

MONTREAL LAKE CREE NATION – Update: On Nov. 25, officers from Prince Albert Police Service arrested Waylon Nelson in Prince Albert.

Waylon Nelson will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Nov. 27.

Original post: Police are searching for 25-year-old Waylon Nelson of Montreal Lake Cree Nation in connection to an incident Friday where a woman was shot. He is charged with discharging a firearm with intent.

Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP say they received a report of an injured person on Montreal Lake Cree Nation at about 5:20 a. m. on Nov. 24. The woman was treated in hospital with serious injuries.

Nelson is 5-foot-10 and about 194 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

He is considered to be armed and dangerous. If he is seen, do not approach, and report this sighting to police by calling 9-1-1 immediately.
