RCMP charge three more in Custer murder

Police have arrested total of six individuals after 2020 death.

SHELLBROOK – Police have charged three more people in relation to the 2020 murder of Wesley Custer.

Brian Dreaver, 30, from Ahthakakoop First Nation; Kyle Standing, 25, from Saskatoon; and Matthew Whitstone, 29, from Pelican Lake First Nation are each charged with one count of first degree murder. All three are slated to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Feb. 6.

Back on Aug. 21, 2020, Custer was brought into Shellbrook Hospital with serious injuries, ultimately succumbing to that trauma.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has been continuing their investigation into Custer’s death, and in May, 2022, arrested Evan Ledoux, Curtis Ledoux, and Tyson Lachance in relation to the murder.

As this is a continuing investigation, police are asking anyone with information about Custer’s death to share their information with their local police service or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
