Regina police investigate suspicious package

Regina police are now investigating who is responsible for the hoax.

REGINA – Regina Police Service says a suspicious package call was a hoax and now they are searching for the person responsible.

At about 9:40 a.m. Friday morning, officers were called to a business in the 3800 block of Albert Street for a report of a suspicious package. The caller stated the package had a note on it threatening harm if it were to be touched. When officers arrived, they located the package and the Explosives Disposal Unit was called in to assist.

Using their specialized training, the team assessed the package, determined it was a hoax and then disposed of it.

At this time the investigation into who is responsible is underway. The public is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they have any information that could assist in this investigation.
