A Saskatchewan truck driver has been charged with impaired driving after allegedly trying to reverse a semi-tractor trailer on an Alberta highway.

Darian Lavallee of Broadview was arrested after a roadside investigation by Parkland RCMP on Nov. 3. Police say they had received multiple complaints about an impaired truck driver on Highway 60 and Highway 627.

Police located the semi-truck and Lavallee was noted to display signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcohol.

Lavallee appears in Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain on Dec. 20.

Police would like to remind the public that impaired driving can impact everyone both directly and indirectly.  As the Christmas holidays approach, they ask that you please plan ahead before you go out.

“There are a number of options to get you home safe so there is no excuse for drinking and driving,” said the RCMP.

If you have any information about this or any other crime, please call the Parkland RCMP at 825-220-7267 (RCMP).  If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
