Saskatoon Police Serious Assault Unit investigate after woman stabbed

SASKATOON – Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate after a woman was stabbed this morning.

At around 5:30 a.m. May 9, police responded to a report of an injured person in the 200 block of Avenue B North. When officers arrived, they located a 38-year-old woman suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening stab wound.

She was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of her injury. As a result of continued investigation, the Serious Assault Unit, assisted by the Tactical Support Unit and Patrol, executed a general warrant on an address in the 400 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Several people were removed from the residence. The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing and charges are expected to be laid in relation.
