Local firefighters responded to a structure fire on a rural property. When they arrived, they located a deceased adult female.
RM of BEAVER RIVER — RCMP have released the name of a deceased woman, Juanita Wahpistikwan, because they want to talk to anyone who had contact with her on July 10 and 11.
On July 11, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a sudden death at a rural property in the RM of Beaver River.
Investigation determined local firefighters responded to a structure fire on the property. When they arrived, they located a deceased adult female.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken on the investigation, with assistance from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Juanita Wahpistikwan from Big Island Lake Cree Nation. Her family has been notified.
