PRINCE ALBERT — Smoke is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility in a large area of Saskatchewan due to northern wildfires. At least one community, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, is seeing an evacuation order for persons most vulnerable to smoke in the air.
Environment Canada says winds will turn northerly Sunday night and Monday, bringing more of central Saskatchewan directly into the path of wildfire smoke at a time when there are 57 active grassfires and forest fires in the province. Twelve of these are not contained.
