Security guard threatened with knife during liquor store robbery

A 15-year-old youth has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.

SASKATOON – A 15-year-old youth faces numerous charges after a security guard at a liquor store was threatened with a knife.

On May 5, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Saskatoon police were called to a business in the 300 Block of Shillington Crescent for a weapons complaint. When officers arrived, they learned that two suspects were attempting to steal alcohol when they were confronted by a security guard. One of the suspects then threatened the security guard with a knife before fleeing the area without any merchandise.

Video evidence obtained as part of the investigation assisted officers with a description of the suspects.

Later that day, the suspects were located and arrested in the 200 Block of Avenue M South. As a result, a 15-year-old youth has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
