Update: Regina man dies in collision near Bladworth

BLADWORTH — Update March 7: A Regina man has died in a collision that blocked traffic near Bladworth Wednesday.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11, a few kilometres north of Bladworth.

Officers responded immediately along with the local fire department and EMS. The investigation determined two semis collided. The driver of one of the semis was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 58-year-old male from Regina. His family has been notified.

The driver and passenger in the other semi were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Saskatoon RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Original post March 6: As of 9:40 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP are currently responding to the report of a serious collision on Highway 11, a few kilometres north of Bladworth.

The northbound lanes in the area on Highway 11 are currently closed and southbound traffic is limited to one lane. Traffic is being re-routed for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and to follow traffic restrictions.
