Traffic stop leads to seizure of money, weapons, 140 grams of drugs

On April 7, at about 7:30 a.m. Moose Jaw police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 0 block of Coteau Street West.

On April 7, at about 7:30 a.m. Moose Jaw police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 0 block of Coteau Street West.

Police were able to locate the vehicle, which had one occupant within it. Police then proceeded to conduct a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop, police observed a bag of cocaine inside the vehicle, which led to them immediately arresting the driver.

An additional search of the driver and vehicle yielded 23.5 grams of cocaine, 116.1 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded sawed off shotgun, more than $1,000 in Canadian currency, a scale, and several large knives.

As a result, the driver has been being charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as multiple firearms-related offences.

The driver was remanded and made his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial court on April 8.
