The two are charged in Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2024.

SASKATOON – Two people charged with first-degree murder now face additional charges of indecently interfering with and offering an indignity to human remains.

Police went to Saskatoon Correctional Centre on March 19 and arrested Edin Dion Vrazalica, 34, to add the new charge. On March 20, they went to Pinegrove Correctional Centre to arrest and charge Chantal Lee McLaren, 32.

Vrazalica was in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 20 and 21. McLaren is back in court on March 25.

Vrazalica and McLaren are charged in Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2024. The victim is a 25-year-old man from Alberta and Saskatoon Police Service said they aren’t releasing his name at his family’s request. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

His body was found inside a home in the 600 block on Lisgar Avenue on Feb. 3 after police executed a search warrant at the residence for an aggravated assault investigation involving firearms.
