Man has ties to Calgary and Winnipeg, police say.

The suspect is described as an older man driving a green tractor hauling bales. He has a heavy build and balding white hair, and was wearing a black cowboy hat, blue plaid shirt, brown suspenders, black boots, and wire-framed glasses.

Mervin Poorman will appear in court again Aug. 17.

The 71-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sniffer dog Kilo, gave officers a positive sit indication to one of his trained narcotic odours. Maidstone RCMP Roving Traffic Unit then searched the vehicle and found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine.

Police say a man had approached a woman and her child, identified himself as police, and accused her of abduction. Days later he is accused of again identified himself as a peace officer and had offered to escort a woman.

Denisha Bear is charged with attempted murder, uttering threats, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, having destroyed a firearm failed to report the destruction to a peace officer, firearms officer or chief firearm’s officer, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
