Attempted robbery results in possession of a weapon charge

Saskatoon police responded to the 900 block of 22nd Street West after it was reported a man was attempting to rob a liquor store and threatened he had a firearm.

SASKATOON — A 30-year-old man is facing charges after being found in possession of a weapon after attempting to rob a Saskatoon business on Friday night.

At approximately 8 p.m., Sept. 9, patrol officers responded to the 900 block of 22nd Street West after it was reported a man was attempting to rob a liquor store and threatened he had a firearm. The male fled before police arrived, but a news release states officers soon located him in the area of 25th Street and Avenue B North.

Upon arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a bladed weapon. He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.
