SASKATOON — If you purchased food and beverage items at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at The Centre Mall at Circle and 8th Street East in Saskatoon, you may have been exposed to Hepatitis A.

The period of potential exposure for customers and staff of this establishment is Feb. 27 through March 19, says the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Anyone who may have purchased food and beverage items AND did not use self-checkout during the dates listed should contact HealthLine 811 by phoning 8-1-1 for instructions. People with exposures within the past 14 days may be eligible for Hepatitis A vaccine to decrease the likelihood of disease. While the risk of transmission is low, hepatitis is a serious disease.
