SASKATOON – Jason Zawerucka of Christopher Lake became Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire, winning the grand prize of $1 million in the Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery, championed by The Mosaic Company.

“I haven't really bought any kind of lottery ticket in a long time, and I just thought, ‘Hey you know what, I think it's time to start again.’ I scrolled across the Roughrider & Children's Hospital Foundations Lottery page and thought this would be appropriate, and being in the health-care field this is something I felt I needed to support, so that's what I did!” said Zawerucka.

The Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery offered over 1,000 prizes worth over $2 million, over 300 cash prizes, and for the first time there were 10 grand prizes including the top grand prize of $1 million cash.

The Halftime 50/50 reached a jackpot of $1,010,275, with Anita Ford of Regina taking home $505,137.50.

There are many more winners to come! Keep a close eye on the website every day in December as we announce Daily, Weekly and Grand Prize winners in Saskatchewan’s largest Cash Calendar Lottery.

The lottery is a partnership between the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation and Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. The funds raised will support amateur sports, education, health and wellness initiatives for the province’s youth, and contribute to maternal and children’s health care at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and across Saskatchewan.

"I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Jason, the $1 million grand prize winner and Saskatchewan’s next millionaire of the Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, president and CEO at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

“We applaud Saskatchewan’s kindness and celebrate this incredible moment for not only the winners, but for the kids and families who need it most.”

“Congratulations to the many winners of our Roughrider & Children's Hospital Foundations Lottery and a special thank you to everyone who supported by purchasing tickets,” said Cindy Fuchs, executive director of Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.

“Your unwavering support creates the path toward better health, mental wellness, and brighter futures for kids in our province.”
