In a few days...Kennedy, Saskatchewan is going to be a VERY busy place!
The 85th Annual Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo is set to take place on July 21st - 23rd.
The event will kick off on Friday night with a “Warm Up Party” at the Beer Gardens located on the Rodeo Grounds. The party will include an “Open Mic”...so folks are invited to come out and enjoy what promises to be an entertaining (and maybe surprising) evening. As Jill Lowe (Rodeo Association Member) notes:
“There's a pretty solid line-up of people that are going to perform already, although we do still have a few empty spaces left. So, people can contact me if they'd like a chance to stand up and show off their talent.”
The Rodeo Parade will take place on Saturday (12 am) and Jill points out that younger spectators will be thrilled to meet the “Special Guest” that will be taking part in the parade this year.
“ We'll be having a TV Star...'Chase' from 'Paw Patrol'...taking part in this year's parade. He's also going to be stopping by at the Friendship Center for lunch after the parade. So kids are invited to come over there and meet him as well.”
Tye Cancade (President of the Rodeo Association) says that the activities planned for Saturday afternoon should offer something for everyone.
“The Quad Mud Fling and Demolition Derby will start right after the parade. This year, it will be trucks taking part in the Demolition Derby instead of cars. There's also going to be the Trade Show happening once again. People will find the Trade Show inside the Loras Disposal Agricultural Center...which is the brand new building provided for us by Loras Disposal. There's about 30 tables booked for the show, so there's going to be a lot to see there.”
Rodeo action will begin with the Grand Entry at 5 pm on Saturday...and will continue on Sunday afternoon with the Grand Entry set to take place at 2 pm.
Jill and Tye both say that “This year's Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo is going to be one HECK of a show! So...come on out and enjoy!!”
