Time to get out and see what's happening in the North Battleford area and beyond.

THE BATTLEFORDS — It’s now the first weekend of August.  It’s time to get out and explore what North Battleford has to offer.

Jake Vaadeland & the SRB at the Rustic Nine

Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys will perform two sets at the Rustic Nine Barn Loft on Aug. 5. The performance will go from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rustic Nine Golf Course.

James Barker Band 

Paradise Hill will be host to the James Barker Band on Aug. 6, with special guest Nice Horse galloping into town as well. The concert will take place at the Paradise Hill Arena (1st Street), with tickets ranging from $22.23 to $75.28.

Poundmaker Chuckwagon Races 

Buckle up. The Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association returns to North Battleford this week. From Aug. 4 to Aug. 6, races will begin at 7 p.m., while on Aug. 7, action will start at 2 p.m. for an afternoon of fun.

Sunday Afternoon Jam 

Come out to Pioneer Hall on Aug. 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to take in and make music. You can dance your pants off, simply listen, or most importantly, enjoy the atmosphere. Donations will be accepted at the door. Tea and coffee are available for those who attend. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Dave at 306-441-3501.

Trapala 5 

Head down to Tramping Lake Park for the Tralapa Music and Sports Festival. The two-day event will take place on Aug. 5 and 6. Notable performers include Monster Truck. There will be food trucks, camping, 18-hole mini golf, an 18-team slo-pitch tournament and a 16-team beach volleyball tournament.
