The pandemic did not stop Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre/Empty Stocking Fund Inc. from proceeding with this year’s annual general meeting.

Here are some highlights from Thursday’s provincial COVID-19 update with deputy premier Gord Wyant and chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab.

From the province: With Phase 3 of Re-Open Saskatchewan underway, work is taking place to prepare for the next phase of the plan to re-open the provincial economy. A target date for the first part of Phase 4 will be announced early next week.

There are two new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to report on June 11, 2020, bringing the provincial total to 660. One new case is in the Saskatoon region and one in the Far North region.

Seeding is virtually complete in most areas of the province, with 98 per cent of the crop now planted.

The Village of Gray, Saskatchewan will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, Community Category, now planned for August 15, 2020, in Battleford, Saskatchewan.

North Battleford residents are being reminded to be careful where they are parking their cars, because the city is resuming issuing parking tickets in some areas.

Ed and I can both remember when Flip Wilson used to claim, “The devil made me do it!” On his comedy television show Flip’s character, Geraldine, repeatedly blamed the devil for every questionable decision she made.
