A group of 10 North Battleford residents, plus one from Gronlid, made the long trip to the Operation Christmas Child warehouse in Calgary to help inspect gift-filled shoeboxes before they are sent to children in Central America and west Africa.

The longstanding service of the reeve of the Rural Municipality of Battle River No. 438 has been recognized with a road named in his honour. Joseph Beckman Road was dedicated at 9 a.m. Thursday morning in the rural municipality.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 34, Prince Albert RCMP discovered human remains while conducting a ground search in a rural area outside of Prince Albert. A forensic autopsy must be completed to identify the remains and the cause of death.
