Submitted A group of Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities representatives will descend upon Parliament Hill in Ottawa this week with priorities that directly affect rural Saskatchewan residents.

There were not too many complaints from those attending this year’s Battlefords Chamber event about the budget handed down by Finance Minister Donna Harpauer.

The Saskatchewan Trucking Association continued to oppose the implementation of the federal carbon tax.

The family of former Battlefords North Stars player Nick Fountain had an encouraging update to his progress after a serious health scare last year.

The Battlefords AA Barons are tied with Swift Current Abbey Resources Broncos going into the third and decisive game of their provincial finals. The two teams were scheduled to play game three Wednesday in Swift Current.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation remind Canadians that the higher prices on gas and alcohol, which kick in today, are unfortunately not an elaborate April Fools’ Day joke, but the new reality.
