The Battlefords AAA Stars had their first home game since Jan. 23 at the Civic Centre, but it didn’t go too well as they fell to the Prince Albert Mintos 5-3.

Local Celtic music act Back of the Bus hopes to bring The Lighthouse Serving the Battlefords to the forefront at an upcoming performance. Back of the Bus takes the Dekker Centre stage Friday, Feb. 15 to raise money for The Lighthouse.

Community safety report for January

Caylee Dorval, a Grade 12 student from Glaslyn attending Glaslyn Central School, is a national finalist in the 10th Annual RBC Black History Month Student Essay Competition. Dorval is the only student from Saskatchewan to be named as a finalist.

The North Battleford Lions recently made a donation of $2,500 to River Heights Lodge.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 70 recently made donations to the community. They have donated $3,500 to River Heights Lodge, $3,000 to the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps No. 2537and $3,000 to the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron No. 4.

The Battlefords North Stars carried their momentum from the previous night's overtime win into Yorkton on Saturday, where they laid a beating on the usually high-scoring Yorkton Terriers.

There’s been a change noticed lately to the format of planning committee meetings at North Battleford City Hall. As Mayor Ryan Bater puts it, “we’re actually doing some planning during planning meetings” now.
