Light snow showers were taking place when the Remembrance Day procession left the Legion on Battleford’s main street Sunday. Because of the wind and cold it was decided not to go to the Cenotaph after the service.

A fire in Battleford Monday afternoon has gutted the home belonging to a former mayor and long time town councillor, as confirmed to the News-Optimist by homeowner Derek Mahon. Battleford Fire Chief Larry Gabruch says the home was a total loss.
