A jail sentence was handed down Thursday in connection to a break and enter and robbery charge from last November. William Standingontheroad was sentenced in North Battleford Provincial Court to four years and 100 days for those charges.

Battlefords RCMP is inviting members of the public to a series of town hall meetings in June.

With rainfall in many areas, the ban on open fires for all provincial Crown land south of the Churchill River, including provincial parks, has now been lifted, according to the Ministry of Environment. The ban was put in place on May 14.
