The flooring for the new gymnasium at North Battleford Comprehensive is due to arrive this week, and it's expected to take between four and six weeks for it to be installed. It's the last major step toward putting the new space into use.

The North Battleford Grand Squares is celebrating its 36th anniversary of square dancing in the Battlefords. Wednesday, Oct. 21 is the day set aside to commemorate this milestone.

History and Commentary From a Prairie Perspective

There used to be a lovely place you could go to see the geese in their natural habitat located between North Battleford and Battleford. I have been going for many years and enjoy seeing the geese as well as other small birds and gophers.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by an eastbound vehicle on Highway 16 near Maidstone Friday night. The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. about 1.5 kilometres east of the community.

There was a single vehicle collision Saturday involving a semi truck carrying anhydrous ammonia. According to Battlefords RCMP, they were assisting on the scene around the Iffley grid road north of the Battlefords near Highway 4.
