John Benjamin Jackson October 1, 1913 - December 27, 2014. Our precious father passed away peacefully in Hanna, Alberta on December 27, 2014 in his 102nd year.

Mrs. Eva Frehlich passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014 at the River Heights Lodge at the age of 83 years. A Celebration of Eva's life will be held in the spring of 2015. Times and dates will be announced when made available.

Sister Ann Rosario (Dolore Desmarais) passed away peacefully on December 27, 2014 at the Battlefords Union Hospital at the age of 78 years. Prayer Vigil took place on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. with Betty Stone presiding.

Mr. Daniel Beaudoin passed away suddenly at his residence on December 26, 2014 at the age of 59 years. Prayer Vigil took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.

North Battleford RCMP responded to 64 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan 2 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan 5. Over the weekend RCMP attended several calls in relation to intoxicated people in public.

Team Marsh outscored opponents 29-10 throughout the Goldline Players Championship over the weekend at the Northland Curling Centre.

The Battlefords AAA Midget Sharks (7-13-1-0) dropped a pair of weekend games against the league leading Saskatoon Stars (15-1-1-0.) The Stars were coming off a championship at the Mac's Tournament in Calgary on New Year’s Day.
