Mr. John Florence of North Battleford passed away peacefully on October 27, 2014, at the age of 71 years. John David Florence was born on April 20th, 1943 in Wilkie, SK to Percy Florence and Jean Florence, (nee McLaren).

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alex "Cubby" Lavallee, late of Battleford, on October 27, 2014 at the age of 73 years.

In Loving Memory of Magdalena (Lena) Agnes Houk who was born October 28, 1919 at South Rosenheim, AB and passed away October 27, 2014 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK at the age of 94 years.

Treva Florence Veit Braithwaite was born on August 28, 1918, near the town of Hettinger ND, to Frank and Nora Veit, and passed away, at the age of 96, in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada on October 3, 2014.

A long effort by the Ukrainian community in the Battlefords to commemorate the memory of those who perished in the Holodomor genocide of 1932-33 in Ukraine came to fruition Saturday.
