Since its inception in 1997, Midwest Food Resources has been organizing cooking groups to help families eat well cost effectively, and now they are ready to start a cooking group for people with health concerns like celiac disease.

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 30 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 6 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 7. Among those calls were two false alarms, one false/nuisance 911 call and three traffic related reports.

BUCKLEY: Jessie Buckley of Maidstone passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the age of 92 years.

ATTRUX: Armand was born on May 19, 1927 to Henri and Marie Louise (Poncelet) Attrux of Speers, Saskatchewan. He passed away, peacefully on April 1, 2014 at the Hafford Special Care Centre.

The recent debate over North Battleford's new zoning bylaw and official community plan has reignited an issue that has been brewing in the Battlefords for years. That issue is the need for greater movie theatre options in the Battlefords.

A Battleford man has been arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Ian Dusty Gopher, age 39, was arrested May 1 by the Battlefords RCMP Provincial and Municipal General Investigative Sections.
